Intimate Family Photoshoot at Home
This lovely family reached out to me after reading one of my blogs on lifestyle photography for personal brands. They loved the style of the personal branding photos but instead wanted a family photoshoot at home. So that’s exactly what we did! I documented their delightful family as they went about their routine on a sunny Saturday.
Authentically at Home
When you spend any amount of time in someone else’s home you start to get a very good impression of who they are. Inside our homes are all their possessions, organized or disorganized, and where some of the happiest moments of our lives are committed to memory. Capturing a family photoshoot at home is, therefore, the most authentic place to capture a family’s connection and affection for each other. Just take a look at the photos below with the kids helping make lunch in their kitchen, mom helping with bath time, family cuddles on the couch, or the little picnic in the backyard!
There is nothing more comfortable than being in our own homes and it really shows in these photographs. The kids will be able to look back on these photos and remember what their family home looked like, too!
Indoor vs Outdoor Family Photos
Both indoor and outdoor family photos have their advantages and disadvantages. A family photoshoot at home has the great advantages of not having to go anywhere or cancel due to bad weather. On the other hand, outdoor family sessions can have stunning vistas and dramatic lighting, such as the “golden hour” shortly before sunset.
