From LA to The City By The Bay
Shea and Collin met working in the film industry in Los Angeles ten years ago, but you wouldn’t know it by watching them interact with each other. Their chemistry is off the charts, especially on their wedding day in San Francisco! They felt that having a San Francisco City Hall wedding ceremony would be an ideal choice for their big day. It was out of their usual beaten path but is a city that’s a home away from home. They got lucky as it turned out to be a beautiful day in San Francisco!
Shea looked stunning in her gown, orchid hairpiece and curls done by C.D. Artistry, and make-up expertly done by Trendee King. She looked like a movie star! Collin looked handsome in his blue suit and white orchid boutonnière that matched Shea’s wedding bouquet.
Leis for A San Francisco City Hall Wedding Ceremony
Shea and Collin have a deep love for Hawaiian culture and wanted to integrate some of Hawaii’s wedding traditions into their ceremony. Instead of exchanging rings, they exchanged leis. Leis have multiple meanings in Hawaiian wedding ceremonies. The first is that the circle shape represents unbroken unity with your partner. The second is that it represents fullness and completeness you can bring each other. The final representation is the coming together of two separate elements to make a whole.
The flowers of the lei, which are usually orchid or plumeria, are individually beautiful, but as a group, they enhance each other’s beauty without sacrificing individuality. This is like a marriage because you don’t need to compromise or lose yourself in a relationship, rather through the love you share, you can grow even more fully into the relationship you’ve built with your significant other. How beautiful is that?
Elements of these representations were woven into Shea and Collin’s ceremony, along with a song performed by Shea. The song was one she has sung to him many times, but he did not expect her to do it during their San Francisco City Hall wedding ceremony. The song was so sweet, it even got Shea to tear up a little bit as she sang! You could really feel the love as her voice bounced beautifully off the walls of the marble walls.
We had so much fun taking photos at San Francisco City Hall and I wish Shea and Collin many more years of aloha and surprise musical moments in their marriage!
